It is vital to know some things before taking Cialis. Read this information about the drug carefully and ask your doctor if you have any questions about Cialis.

Do not take Cialis if you are allergic to tadalafil, or to any of the drug’s component.

Do not take Cialis if you use a nitrate drug for chest pain treatment or for heart problems. These medicines include: nitroglycerin (Nitrostat, Nitrolingual, Nitro-Dur, Nitro-Bid, Minitran, Deponit, Transderm-Nitro), isosorbide dinitrate (Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate), and isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, ISMO, Monoket), or amyl nitrate or nitrite. Nitrate drugs with Cialis can cause a decrease in blood pressure, which can result in fainting, stroke, or heart attack.

While taking this drug, be attentive to any changes in your health condition such as: dizziness during sexual activity, or pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw. If you have these conditions you should stop and call your doctor immediately. You could experience a serious side effect of this drug.

Cialis should be taken once a day with 24 hours interval between doses to avoid overdose and possible side effects. In case you have prolonged (more than 4 hours) and painful erection, call your doctor immediately; prolonged erection (priapism) can damage the penis and result in impotence.

Cialis may lessen blood flow to the optic nerve of the eye, causing sudden vision loss. Especially vulnerable to this side effect are people with heart diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or certain pre-existing eye problems, and in those who smoke or are over 50 years old. However, it is not proved that Cialis causes vision loss. In case of sudden vision loss stop using the drug and get emergency medical help.
